| I've moved on from Singapore to the UK, and I am currently in Wales after spending last week in London. And while in London, do as the Londoners do - which means visiting a few London ping-pong clubs! The first club on my agenda to visit was the DHS Greenhouse Progress table tennis club (formerly London Progress), home of many good players and recommended to me by one of my ex-English table tennis buddies back in Perth. After checking out the Singapore Table Tennis Association club, what would an English ping-pong club be like? Let's find out! |

hey.. so you went to southall.. i never liked the venue.. finding the lights were too far up to the ceiling.. shame that the players were not so friendly.. though they do a tremendous amount of good work with children. etc. When i’ve been to london clubs i found the same approach.. unless they know you and your standards they will most likely cold -shoulder you.. but hey there are other clubs around .. in sussex.. which welcomes outsiders with open arms. we understand the concept of networking with fellow players
I also went to the Kensington branch and the Graham Spicer tt club while in London, both of which I had a fairly good hit at. So two out of three ain’t bad really. It was probably just one of those nights.
