Points to look for:
- The player has reached the point where it would no longer be comfortable to keep swinging the bat directly forward and down, and is now allowing the racket to curve naturally to his left, as he begins to turn his waist, hips and shoulders back to the line of play. This natural curve to the swing is caused partly by the turning of the body, and partly by the fact that the player's arm is now straightened, and starting to move around the shoulder joint rather than the elbow.
- The player is starting to shift his body weight from his right leg to both legs again.
- The free arm has stayed in position.
- The player has watched the ball right through contact, and has not yet started to lift his head to watch his opponent.
