The ball is on its way, and the player is in the middle of his follow through.

Points to look for:

  • The player is beginning to come up out of his crouch, with his legs starting to straighten.
  • Since the player has hit the ball to his opponent's forehand, the player is pushing himself a little to his right, so that he will finish his recovery in the center of the angles available to his opponent.
  • The player is now watching the opponent as well as the flight of the ball.
  • The playing arm has been allowed to become straight as part of the follow through.
