The ball has just bounced on the table, and the player is in the middle of his backswing.

Points to look for:

  • The bat is being taken backwards and upwards, since the forward swing will be forwards and downwards.
  • The hips, waist and shoulders have continued to turn to the right.
  • The free arm has continued to turn to the right, following the left shoulder.
  • The right leg and foot are moving to a position that is more parallel to the table.
