The ball is now over the net, and the player has finished his follow through.

Points to look for:

  • As shown by the lack of blurring, the player has now come to a complete halt, and will start to recover from this position.
  • The ball is travelling too high over the net - it should be much closer to net height for a good drop shot.
  • The player is watching the flight of the ball and the movement of his opponent. If his opponent looks like making an attack on this relatively weak drop shot, the player will get ready to defend with a block. If his opponent looks like he will have trouble making a good return, the player will get ready to make another attack himself.
