The player is now beginning to return to his ready position after stroking the ball.

Points to look for:

  • The bat is being lowered back into a neutral position, bearing in mind that the ball has been hit crosscourt.
  • The player is now focusing on how his opponent is handling his loop.
  • The player is now facing the new line of play, which is from his opponent's backhand corner.
  • The player has finished his stroke in a balanced position, being able to move in any direction easily. This is much better than finishing with the body leaning to the left, which is common among lower level players.
