The player has seen that the serve is a long serve to his forehand, and is starting to move towards the ball.

Points to look for:

  • The player is watching the ball closely, in order to judge how deep the ball is going to land on his court.
  • The playing arm is beginning to move forwards, while the free arm will be used to balance the player while he reaches for the ball.
  • The player has begun to turn his hips and shoulders to his right, in order to prepare early for the stroke.
