The ball is approaching the player, and the player has finished his backswing.

Points to look for:

  • It is possible to see how the player has cocked his wrist back, in preparation for snapping the wrist through contact with the ball.
  • The player's head and body is now relatively still, with much of his bodyweight on his right leg.
  • The slight backward lean of the player's body is due to the fact that the ball has heavy backspin, which the player will need to lift by using a more vertical swing.
