Points to look for:

  • The bat can be seen to be moving forward quite significantly, as well as to the side as shown from the front view. It is easy to see here how the bat is pointing downwards at the time of contact with the ball.
  • The heavy wrist snap is evident from the large amount of blurring of the bat in comparison to the lesser blurring of the forearm.
  • Note the direction of the ball - moving forwards and a little downwards, instead of being hit steeply into the table. This shallow descent allows the ball to retain more spin when it hits the table.
