The ball has completed its first bounce on the table.

Points to look for:

  • The playing arm has moved forward as far as is natural, and is now moving to the right of the body.
  • The player is watching the progress of the ball closely.
  • The free arm is still stationary.
  • The ball has bounced a little closer to the endline of the table than for the backspin and no spin serves, since the player is not trying to bounce the ball twice on the opponent's court.
