After Contact With the Ball

The player has just finished contact with the ball.

Points to look for:

  • The shoulders have continued to turn back towards their starting position, and the forearm of the playing arm has moved further towards the table, hitting through the ball at contact, with very little sliding action.
  • The free arm has moved very little through the service action.
  • As can be seen from the blurring of the ball, it is moving forwards and slightly downwards towards the table.
