The ball is at the peak of its ascent.

Points to look for:

  • The ball is moving slightly backwards, but well within the near-vertical guidelines.
  • In comparison to the forehand pendulum topspin/sidespin serve, the bat is held higher, and with the tip of the bat pointing upwards, rather than downwards. (It would probably be better if both positions were similar, since it would be more deceptive.)
