On Friday 29th August 2008 I was in London and looking for a place to play some table tennis and get the kinks out of my game after a long flight in on Thursday. The Greenhouse Progress table tennis club (or London Progress as it had been known until 1st September 2008) had been recommended to me by one of my English friends back in Perth when she heard I would be visiting London and the UK.
Based on my friend's suggestion, I grabbed my trusty bat and boarded the British rail system to Southall train station. Greenhouse Progress club is just around the corner, and was quite easy to find. So here goes on my first visit to an English table tennis club - what would it be like?
