Anyway, I still got in a bit of practice, so I can't complain too much. I have visited two other London table tennis clubs and got some good practice in, so it must just have been one of those nights.

Overall, the DHS Greenhouse Progress table tennis club has a very good set up, with excellent on court conditions, not too expensive a club fee (it was 5 pounds for visitors), and good showers and change rooms. It has several training nights through the week, and it's nice and close to the Southall train station, which is convenient too. If you are a newcomer I'd suggest bringing a friend to have a hit with until the locals get to know you, but the players I saw there that night definitely look to be quite good, so it's probably worth your while coming a few times to get to know everyone if you are going to be in the area for a while.
