That's not to say that the conditions are bad or anything. The floor is a nice red Taraflex type material, and the tables are a mix of the Joola 3000-SC and DHS Rainbow competition tables. The barriers are nice new Joola types as well. There's a fair bit of height in the ceiling too, considering that you appear to be in a sports hall basement.
And that's probably the biggest downside. The equipment is all great, but the hall itself is a bit below par in comparison. As you will be able to see from the accompanying photographs, you really do feel as though you are in the basement underneath the proper sports hall. There are pipes running along the walls, and small windows high up covered with plain old wooden blinds. There is even a whopping great cement pillar in the middle of the floor! Add to that the number of tables folded up and placed along the walls, and you could be forgiven for thinking that this was just a temporary location, not the main headquarters for the mighty Singapore Women's team. In comparison, the facilities at the Melbourne Sports Aquatic Centre (MSAC), where Australia's top men and women train, are almost luxurious!
