George had an excellent tournament, stamping himself as the number 2 Australian man of the tournament. He had a 23-4 win-loss record, losing to the three visiting Singaporean men, and Simon Gerada (in a tight 3-2 loss).
Due to his rapid improvement of late, George was unseeded coming into the Mens Singles, which resulted in him being unlucky enough to draw and lose to the similarly unseeded Singaporean Anlin Hao in his group.
In the Mens Doubles, George and partner Kiet Tran made it to the semifinals, losing to the eventual winners, X.L.Cai and Z.Z.Liu of Singapore.
Notable wins for George during the tournament included defeats of Piers Carter, Scott Houston, Sharad Pandit, Kyle Davis, and Chamara Fernando.
