Andrei Makowski from Malta provided plenty of entertainment for the crowd as he fought his way through the Mens Singles to the semifinals, winning Round of 16 matches over Scott Houston 4-3, and his quarterfinal over David Zalcberg by a similar margin. He was eventually defeated by Shibaji Datta in the semifinals.
