Cheng (or Chen, as he is widely known), is a two-winged shakehand looper and blocker. Cheng was a member of the Chinese national team for many years, but was denied a place in many team matches due to the Chinese fixation on penhold styles in the 1980's. A legend of US table tennis.

Tahl's Take
Cheng recently defied the laws of ageics by winning the US Nationals in 2004 at the age of 46. In 2006 Cheng reached the Semi-finals of the nationals at the age of 48. Cheng's feeling for the ball is quite exceptional. He has won every US Title there is to win, including the US Open Men's singles 2 times. Cheng was also a member of the Chinese national team for 10 years.
