Two Wing Hitter

By , About.com Guide

Strokes Used:

Players of this style attack with drives or smashes from both sides of their body, typically with a shakehand grip. Less spin and more speed is used in comparison with the Two Wing Looper.

Distance from the Table:

These types of players prefer to play close to the table (up to 3-4 feet away at most), where their style is most effective.

Typical Equipment:

These players commonly use short pips rubbers with sponge, and may speed glue the rubber as well at higher levels. An offensive blade is also used.

Popularity:

This style is now fairly rare in the higher levels of the game, but it can still be effective.
