Performance

With this robot, you can create the same routines as any non-programmable robot. It has been totally reliable, and you have to try to jam the ball on purpose to cause a jam. For those who care, you can use 38mm or 40mm balls. Another plus of this robot is that the trajectory of the balls that this robot produces is the most realistic of the robots that I have seen and/or used. Trajectory of underspin balls is not quite as realistic as other spins, but I don't think there is a robot that does this well. The robot is extremely quiet during use. With moderate/heavy use, I had to replace the wheel once in the 2½ years that I've owned the robot.

Unlike some robots, speed and spin remain constant despite the ball delivery rate and ball placement/oscillation settings (i.e. no sidespin is imparted as the head oscillates).

Price

There is one significant issue that causes concern to anyone thinking of buying any TTmatic robot -- the price of a new unit. A new TTmatic 302 is $1700 in the US. This is significantly higher than every other competing non-programmable robot. I believe that TTmatic has the best build quality of any manufacturer for all of their free-standing robots. They are built like tanks and will last forever with little-to-no maintenance (except for wheel replacement), however, whether this is worth the price premium is a buyer's decision.

Summary

I've been very happy with my TTmatic 302. It has met or exceeded my expectations that I had when I first purchased it. Based on features and performance alone, I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I was fortunate to find an incredibly good deal on a used unit, which made it a no-brainer purchase when compared to every other non-programmable robot, so the price issue was not a deterrent for me. However, price is a major factor for most people, but those who opt for the TTmatic 302 will not be disappointed.
