The ball is heading upwards and forwards, and the player is in the middle of his follow through.

Points to look for:

  • The player has continued to push upwards with his legs, and is now in a fairly upright position.
  • By comparing the previous photographs, it is possible to see that the free arm is used as a fairly stationary counterweight, rather than swinging perfectly in synch with the playing arm.
  • The trajectory of the ball (at around 45 degrees), is evident.
