The ball is coming straight at the player, and the decision has been made to play a forehand lob.

Points to look for:

  • The player has begun his backswing, while at the same time starting to move to his left, in order to have room to play his stroke.
  • Although the player is close to the back wall, he has not put his back right against the wall, since this would impede his backswing if he decided to hit the ball with a lower trajectory or a loop from a distance.
  • The waist and shoulders have started to turn to the player's right, and the bat is being lowered into position.
