combination bat

By Greg Letts, About.com

Definition: In table tennis, a combination bat is a bat which has very different types of rubbers on each side, usually a grippy inverted rubber on one side, and long pimples or antispin on the other.

Many players who use combination bats will twiddle the bat, in order to make it even harder for the opponent to tell which side has been used to hit the ball.
